Week 6: Updating an Infographic

This week, we were assigned with taking an existing infographic that we've made and trying to update it, simplify it, or recreate it using another tool. I decided to take my first ever infographic and simplify it by putting it into a new tool and having a little less information on it which to say the least did not turn out as bad was I was expecting. As a reference, the picture below is my first ever infographic I created using the Canva software as we were instructed to do in week 1 which outlined some interesting facts about myself.

As I went on to use another program, I decided to use Piktochart to re-create the infographic. The set up was in a way very similar to Canva and had a numerous number of outlines and templates to be used. I picked on the template that was vey similar to the one I used with Canva and adding in all the information was a breeze. The thing I liked most about Piktochart was that it resembled Canva very similarly. There were templates with charts and graphs, some with text boxes, and others with just bullet points. It included different pictures and graphics that could be used to outline better what the text was trying to get across and I also liked how there seemed to be more space. There were bigger text boxes and the infographics themselves seemed to be a little longer when compared to Canva. The only downside I would say there is would be that there is a lot going on. I feel like Canva was a little cleaner and was easier to use. New infographic (redesigned) below.
