Week 1: LinkedIn Jobs on the Rise
2020 has been a year of firsts for many of us including those now referred to as "essential workers". In the midst of a global pandemic, racial injustice movement, and a change in political leaders among other things, job placement has been all over the board. People that worked in what most of us thought would be a "necessary" job such as sitting in an office cubicle, are now either being laid off or forced to work at home. Those working in aviation, travel and hospitality services, food services, and even retail services are been hit harder than ever and are being forced to make uneasy cutbacks and layoffs. In this article, author Andrew Seaman identifies what have been the top 15 opportunities that are in demand and even hiring during these time. Throughout his article he includes information such as availably of jobs, wages, remote availability and much more. What Seaman is doing here is not only excellent for people like us who are looking into statistics of jobs during times like these, but at the same time it's great for people who may have experienced recent job loss due to this pandemic that might be looking to get back into the workforce where help is needed the most.

When you think about it, the healthcare field tends to require a lot of training and schooling over the years. With the pandemic and everything taking place, many of those students studying to become a healthcare professional are being given opportunities of a lifetime to move into a fully employed role within the field. With all the testing being done, vaccines being distributed, people being out of work due to illness, this is one of the biggest increases in the field that has been seen in quite some time. Additionally, fields such as E-commerce and diversity in the workplace have also seem a major spike in opportunities. With everything being purchased online these days, many retail locations as well as e-commerce giant Amazon are hiring more than ever to combat the spike in popularity. Along with all the online shopping we've been seeing lately, we are also in the middle of a racial injustice movement looking to bring attention and awareness to issues of all kinds and with companies being so involved in the social movements, a lot of them have stepped up their actions in enforcing diversity within the workplace.
