Week 15: Final Project Infographic Review

Image
This semester we have been learning about different ways to take our infographic development skills to a higher level and for my final project I decided to make an infographic around my place of work which is Best Buy. For this infographic I chose to highlight one of the new services being offered at stores around the U.S. which is called "Best Buy Beta" which is a Geek Squad membership services that gives members services year round at no additional cost. Below is the final infographic I constructed and some of the key features of the service.  This here is just some of the benefits of Best Buy Beta. Best Buy Beta allot customers to receive services wherever and whenever they need them such as in the store, in their homes, or even online. These services range from having a deice set up, installing an appliance, transferring data from device to device and much more. The service is $200 a year but benefits the customer year-round and provides them with endless benefits. All i...

Week 14: Infographic Feedback

Image
This week we were assigned with taking our final infographic drafts and getting feedback on them. I sent my infographic to a couple different guys on my team as well as a few of my family members and they were all impressed with my original draft. Some of the things they liked with my original draft was that I included both the Best Buy and Geek Squad logos right at the top. This showed that the program was through Best Buy, but also part of Geek Squad. Additionally, my family members specifically really liked how I included the images with each section such as the Geek Squad van to show in home support. All around I felt like I got excellent feedback!  After consulting both friends and family about the infographic, there were just a few things they recommended that I change. First, in my original infographic, I put "Get help whenever you need it" which is true the program does offer that but the biggest benefit of the program is it goes wherever you go. From this feedback ...

Week 13: Multilingual Infographics

Image
After reading the article, I found it extremely interesting that this could even be done in the first place. It was super cool to see how using layers in programs like photoshop or even procreate allows artists and creators to so easily translate different words and phrases and I think this is a super beneficial tool also.  When it comes to an infographic, I think this tool could be super helpful. If you think about all the different brands, companies, and corporations that are all around the world, a lot of them are in areas that speak and read in a different language and being able to have one message in multiple languages can be a huge benefit as well as cost/time saver. The only downside I would say this comes with is if you are not a person who speaks another language fluently or fully understands how to read in a different language, translations may not be fully accurate or become confusing to people at times which can be a huge downfall if you are trying to display inf...

Week 12: Understanding Artificial Intelligence

Image
Artificial intelligence in my eyes is both extremely useful, but also a bit confusion and at times even frightening. Artificial intelligence has taken over every industry with a snap of a finger. From warehouses, to vehicles, appliances, even items in your everyday homes like cell phones, or smart speakers. A.I is everywhere wether we like it or not. To me what is so confusing about A.I is just how does it all work? how did we all of a sudden develop things like cars that can drive themselves or speakers that can turn your lights on, and so on. It's crazy to think that in the years to come, A.I might literally take place of everything we do.  Now what's cool about artificial intelligence is that it has become an extremely useful tool in our everyday lives and we may not even be where we are today in our society without it. When you think about it, A.I has brought us a new industry of automobiles. Tesla for example has created hundreds of thousands of jobs just solely on creatin...

Week 11: Marketing With Super.tech

Image
Super.tech is a company which develops different software's to bridge the gap between near-term quantum computers and practical applications. Super.tech has the ambition to become quantum's one stop shop while targeting its customer base of both professionals aiming to extract business value from quantum, as well as for quantum hardware engineers who are aiming to optimize their systems. One of the approaches of Super.tech is to unite different aspects of quantum computer science and quantum physics that would originally be separated through traditional computers.  When it comes to the marketing side of Super.tech, there are a handful of aspects that they should look at to accomplish in order to achieve a strong overall message and customer relation. Technology itself is very confusing for many to begin with, along with this, being a newer company also does not help. One of the biggest things that Super.tech is going to have to focus on is showing its customer base the main dif...

Week 9 - How to Infographic

Image
For week 9, we were assigned with creating another infographic about "how to" do something. For this infographic I decided to do the simple task of washing your hands and I used Canva to create my graphic. In a time like now, washing your hands is extremely important and also extremely simple. As seen in the infographic below, step one is simply putting soap on your hands. Step two involves scrubbing your hands for approximately 20 seconds to allow the soap to do its job and eliminate the germs and dirt. Step three involves rinsing your hands off with water and lastly, drying them off for step 4.  All in all, when it comes down to it, making these infographics is actually really easy! This infographic is important for the world we live in today and keeps things simple for all readers.

Week 8: Thinking Like A Designer

Image
For week 8, we were assigned with coming up with potential designs for our final infographic. For my first idea, I would like to outline the Total Tech package that Best Buy offers. I have been working at Best Buy since early 2017 and throughout my time at there I have filled a number of different roles. Currently I am a sales associate and with that we offer a wide range of services both in store as well as in the home through our Total Tech package. The infographic will go over in great detail the different levels of services offered within the package, their prices, and the benefits of being a Total Tech member when it comes to the customers time. I think the infographic will definitely help highlight some of the amazing services the package offers and show customers what can be down within their homes now that restrictions are being lifted from Covid-19.  The second idea I had for the final infographic is showing the different options and discounts there are when it comes...
