Week 8: Thinking Like A Designer

 For week 8, we were assigned with coming up with potential designs for our final infographic. For my first idea, I would like to outline the Total Tech package that Best Buy offers. I have been working at Best Buy since early 2017 and throughout my time at there I have filled a number of different roles. Currently I am a sales associate and with that we offer a wide range of services both in store as well as in the home through our Total Tech package. The infographic will go over in great detail the different levels of services offered within the package, their prices, and the benefits of being a Total Tech member when it comes to the customers time. I think the infographic will definitely help highlight some of the amazing services the package offers and show customers what can be down within their homes now that restrictions are being lifted from Covid-19. 

The second idea I had for the final infographic is showing the different options and discounts there are when it comes to buying new technology through Apple. Apple offers a bunch of different recycling and trade in programs that not a lot of people tend to take advantage of and along with that, they also have a number of different discounts for people like students, frontline workers, teachers, veterans and many more. I think by highlighting all the different aspects there are to purchasing new Apple technology, people will realize that there are more ways out there to save money and still get an amazing device at a great price. 

All in all, I think I finally narrowed my final project down to two potential clients being Best Buy and Apple. Both of these companies offer a lot of different services and products and not a lot of people are fully aware of them. Along with this, after reading the chapter on thinking like a designer, it was really interesting to see all the different steps there are and all the different ideas that go through someone's mind when creating a design. Personally I have never really been in a situation where I needed to design something and this will be a fun way to do so.
